A friend of mine, like all, trained to bring me plastic things before throwing them out, brought me a used Melnor 4200 Oscillating Lawn Sprinkler. I detached the rails, attaching them together so that the sides and bottom were flat and the top was curved.

I wanted the nose to be long and low with some structure sticking up toward the back, like a side view of a Star Destroyer. So, I did that, building a conning tower from a Flonase container 3 and added Standard No7 engine nozzles in the back (covered by a pair of Flonase container 4's), and put fixed-mount guns and fins in the nose so that everybody can look at it and be comfortable knowing at the very least which is the front and which is the back. Just after I started painting it I took a good look at it, and...

I had botched it. The bump at the base of the tower makes the other end look like the front. And the long deck in front of it and the gun behind it makes the whole ship look like... A submarine going backwards! And painting the nose like a WWII BF109 didn't save it.

My brief love affair with a capital ship ended sadly.
