The local PBS station was showing a repeat of an old "Antiques Roadshow" and was talking about an old Chinese vase that had dragons decorating the handles. One of the dragons had a bird-like beak, dragon wings, but a Horned Lizard-like head. Thus was born the idea for a dragon based on a horny-toad.
We handed our good friend Chris a very simplified sculpture and asked him to build-on some dragon wings. Instead he scratchbuilt the whole thing. Beautifully. And cast a couple that we have for sale.
