Funny how a design that stymied me years ago becomes a quick build.
It was probably fifteen years ago when I widened a 1/72 scale P-47D Razorback by half an inch, plating-over the nose and where the wings had been. Now, strapped for time to fill-out this year's fleet, I picked it up and noticed that X-15 wings and aft fuselage part would perfectly fit, with the vertical stabilizer neatly bisecting the resulting air scoop. The rest of the back is a box with parts added to the sides and wings atop turned end-on. The nose is a disposable lighter.
